Paul Douglas Tuttle was born in Winnepeg, Manitoba Province, Canada on January 25, 1918 and passed away on Thursday, May 9, 2019. He was born to Alfred Claude Tuttle and Margaret Hill Tuttle, both from England. He graduated from McGill University in Montreal, as an electrical engineer, and went on to teach electrical engineering at Clarkston College of Technology in the early 1950’s and at Cornell University in Potsdam, New York in the mid 1950’s.

He then worked in Massena, New York with the Aluminum Company of America, ALCOA. In 1968, Doug was transferred to Marshall, Texas for the start-up of the Alcoa Conductor Products Company, as Division Chief of the Electrical Conductor Research Laboratory. Mr. Tuttle was an avid philanthropist and supporter of arts and education throughout his life, establishing scholarship programs in memory of his first wife, Grace Tuttle, at McGill University and a nursing scholarship at the University of Texas, Tyler, in memory of his second wife, Kay Tuttle.

He was devoted to and worked with Michelson Museum and supported the music organizations in the area. He was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church and sang in the choir for many years. Mr. Tuttle was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Grace, and second wife Kay.

He is survived by his son, Wayne Tuttle, of Slovenia; grandson, Kenneth Tuttle of Malaysia; and niece, Judith Wood of San Bruno, California. He will be greatly missed by his many friends. Doug was devoted to his family of cats, Dixon, Cally, Roamer and Harvey and the love was mutually reciprocated.
