Paul’s Obituary Paul Henry Laporte, age 78, of Knob Noster, passed away Saturday, February 23, 2019 at his home. He was born March 3, 1940 in Garfield, AR, the son of Paul Ervin and Stella Mae (Morrison) Laporte. On August 5, 1979, he and Aida Ortega were united in marriage at Whiteman Air Force Base.

Paul began his military career in 1959, ironically recruited by his father Chief Signalman Laporte into the Navy. He was a cook in San Diego, Long Beach, and Ferndale, California between 1959-69. After a brief siesta, Paul joined the Air Force, and served ten years for his country.

During this tour, Paul met the love of his life, Aida, and eventually celebrated his first retirement from the USAF in 1981. Paul didn’t stop serving his country though, as he assumed the position of KP Supervisor at the Ozark dining facility for the next nine years. Finally, in 1990, Paul accepted employment at the 509th Medical Group and subsequently set the standard for all housekeeping personnel who will follow.

Paul is survived by his wife, Aida, of the home; daughter, Jeanette (Darrell) Bryan of Stockbridge, GA and their children, Tony and Brandon Bryan; daughter Danna (Marc) Somers of Bates City, MO and their son, Joshua Somers, he is also survived by His daughter Tina (David) Alvidrez, of Coffeyville, KS and their 4 children, Ashley, Veronica, Analecia, and David Michael; son Charley (Kristi) Laporte of Pleasanton, KS and their 2 children Trevor and Kady; daughter Maria (Terry) Hensley of Coffeyville, KS and their 4 children Cory, Jared, Evan, and Shelby; his daughter Debi (Corey) Dick of Claremore, OK and her two children Paul Vincent and Mason, and their child Josh; sister Florence (Marvin) Kopf of National City, CA and their children, Norman and Marvin Lee; his brother Jim Laporte of O’Brien, OR and his two children Paul David and Tamara; his aunt Teresa Laporte-Inerbickler of Fremont, CA; and 13 great grandchildren as well as numerous cousins from AR, AZ, CA, MO, OK, TX, and WY. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Stella Laporte, and a granddaughter Sydney. Memorial services will be held at 10 am on Thursday, February 28, 2019 at Sweeney-Phillips & Holdren Funeral Home with Father Mark Miller officiating.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 pm on Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to Powell Gardens or the Missouri Veterans Home and can be left in care of the funeral home.
