Obituary for Paul Raphael Battermann Mr. Paul Raphael Battermann passed away peacefully on the Fourth of July, surrounded by his loving family. He was born April 8, 1946 to Edwin and Mary Jane (Lacava) Battermann in Seattle, Washington. Paul was raised in the Wenatchee Washington area where he ran combine on the wheat fields.

Later he proudly served his country in Vietnam from 66-68 receiving his honorable discharge and purple heart. Paul was a master metals fabricator and could be seen about the town in his welding milk truck and on his 1946 Flathead utility trike. He spent most of his life as a self-employed welder, forming Battermann Welding and worked for his father’s business Battermann High Pressure Drilling along with driving trucks.

His family, his work and his ride were his three big joys in his life. He loved to ride and owned and built several motorcycles over the years. Paul met the love of his life, Elizabeth (Sissy) Kasun, in Butte and together they had four children.

Paul is survived by his daughters: Jennifer Battermann, Sonya Battermann, and Rachael Battermann (Tom Bender) and his son, Joshua Battermann. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Tyestick, Pookie, Bransyn, Braxton, Rueso and Raya, two great grandchildren Little Biker Lane and Easton Paul special friends Gene and Liz Spolar as well as several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, his sister Beverly and his brother David.

A ride of the nine mile loop will directly follow with celebration of life at 4 pm at the McQueen Athletic Club. Memorials in Paul’s memory may be made to the DAV or the Butte Food Bank. “I leave you with a wealth of memories” Goodbye!
