Obituary of Paul Mullenix Paul L. Mullenix, 80, lifelong resident of Marion, died in his home at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 17, 2019. He was born in Marion on January 22, 1938, to the late Edgar William and Cecile Irene (Moore) Mullenix. On January 26, 1974, he married Wilma J. Griffin, and she survives.

Paul graduated from Marion High School and enlisted in the U.S. Army, where he served from 1961-63. Following his military service, he worked over 19 years as a tool and die maker at General Motors in Marion. Paul held memberships with Free and Accepted Masons, Scottish Rite of Fort Wayne, Shriners, Eastern Star, AMVETS Post 5 (life member), VFW Post 7403 (life member), and American Legion Post 10 (annual member).

He loved his wife, daughter, and all of his grandchildren so very much. They were his life. Paul always enjoyed going fishing when he could, woodworking, as well as watching NASCAR, especially when Jeff Gordon was still in racing.

He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 45 years, Wilma Mullenix, Marion; daughter, Paula (Alan Dray) Mullenix, Marion; grandchildren, Randall (Megan) Mullenix, Danielle (Joe Simone) Mullenix, Shelby Springer, and Matt (Brittany) Hisey; great-grandchildren, Andrew, Alisha, Kenzie, Abby, Isaac, Conner, Dominic, Maverick, Ivy, and Easton; great-great-grandchild, Raiden; siblings, Daniel (Melinda) Mullenix, Mike Mullenix, Pat (Greg) Rifner, and Irene (John) Hale; aunt, Mary (Jim) Barley; and lifelong friend, Jack Alexander. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas Robert Mullenix and Billy Mullenix. The family will receive visitors from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, January 22, 2019, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St., Gas City, IN.

Paul’s funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, January 23, 2019, at the funeral home with Rev. Dr. Tom Mansbarger officiating. Burial will follow at Grant Memorial Park.
