Peter Paul Benkovich, 68, of Keyport, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on June 25, 2018 at Bayshore Community Hospital in Holmdel, New Jersey. Peter was born on July 12, 1949 in Elizabeth, New Jersey, where he grew up. He also lived in Hillside, New Jersey for a period of time, before moving to Keyport, New Jersey to raise his family.

Before retirement, Peter worked as a Mechanic and Welder for P& J Welding in Elizabeth, New Jersey for many years. He was predeceased by his parents, Thomas and Helen (Cocola) Benkovich and his beloved wife, Patricia Benkovich. Peter is survived by his loving children, Denise Longo and her husband, Donald, of Keyport, New Jersey, Dawn Rodriguez and her husband, Carlos, of Coral Springs Florida, and Peter Benkovich Jr. and his long-time girlfriend, Erin Tumaliuan, of Cliffwood Beach, New Jersey and his dear siblings, Thomas Benkovich and his wife, Margaret, of Hammonton, New Jersey, Robert Benkovich and his wife, Donna, of Linden, New Jersey, and Jean Piscopo and her husband, Anthony, of Forked River, New Jersey.

He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren, Donny Longo, Anthony Longo, Adam Benkovich, Jonathan Rodriguez, Caleb Benkovich, and Carlos Rodriguez, his adored “Fur-baby”, Sandy, and many treasured nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Peter will be greatly missed, but never forgotten. Family and friends are invited to visit on Friday, June 29, 2018 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730.
