Peter M. Rake, 64, of Washingtonville, passed away Sunday, February 24, 2019. Born November 24, 1954 in Bloomsburg, he was the son of the late Lester S. and Anna Beatrice (Goshy) Rake. He was married to the former Patty Sue High, until her passing on November 3, 1998.

Peter was a 1972 graduate of Danville High School. He retired from Penn Dot, after 32 years working as an equipment operator. He was a member of the Washingtonville Lutheran Church.

He was an avid trapper and was a lifetime member of the PA Trapper Association, and was the director of district 7 for the association. Peter was also a member of Pheasants Forever. He enjoyed all the outdoors, hunting and fishing.

Surviving are his daughters: Melissa Ann Rake, of Washingtonville, and Megan Marie Kauffman and her husband Matthew, of Mifflin; and one brother: Timothy Rake, of Washingtonville. Preceding him in death besides his parents and wife are his sister, Bunny Mae Rake, and his loving canine companion, Trapper. Family and friends are invited to call from 5 to 7 Pm on Saturday, March 2, at Brooks Funeral Home & Cremation Svc PC, 207 Broadway St, Turbotville, where a funeral service will be held at 7:00 PM with Pastor Mark Shellenberger, Benton Assembly of God Church, officiating.

Burial will take place at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers the family suggest contributions in his memory be made to PTA Distrist #7, c/o Steve Linn, 449 Greenhouse Lane, Zion Grove, Pa 17985. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brooks Funeral Home and Cremation Svc PC, 207 Broadway Street, Turbotville.
