Phyllis’ Obituary Phyllis Mild Belles, nee Jensen, passed away peacefully on May 22, 2019 at age 95. Born in St. Paul, MN, Phyllis was the daughter of Betty (Petersen) and Arthur Jensen. Since 1989 she resided at Normandy Farms Estates in Blue Bell.

A widow, she remarried in 1993 to William Belles (d 2008). Her first marriage was to Warren Mild in 1943. Warren died in 1988.

Phyllis was the loving mother of David Mild (Patricia), Samuel Mild, and Obie Mild Taylor (Robert). She was the cherished great-grandmother of Jeremiah Diehl. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Ralph Jensen (Beverly) and Donald Jensen.

She is survived by her sister, Carolyn Demcak (Frank). Phyllis attended Harding High School and business school and worked at Montgomery Ward in St. Paul. After raising her children, she worked as a librarian and as a bookkeeper/office manager/executive secretary.

Phyllis was active in her church, serving as treasurer and as the first woman to chair the board of trustees at Calvary Baptist Church in Norristown. More recently, she was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lansdale, where she was a Circle Leader. For ten years, she also published a newsletter for the church and one for Normandy Farms Estates.

She enjoyed collecting art, going to the theater, and watching classic movies. She and Warren traveled extensively in the U. S. and in Europe. Later, she traveled with her children to Hawaii, Egypt, and Iceland.

With her son Sam, she self-published a manuscript left by Warren, a biography of an 18th century portrait painter. Family and friends are invited to Phyllis’ Life Celebration in the auditorium at Normandy Farms Estates, 9000 Twin Silo Drive, Blue Bell, PA 19422 on June 7 at 11 am. Interment will be private at The Baptist Church in the Great Valley in Devon.

Arrangements are entrusted to the Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, Lansdale. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the First Baptist Church of Lansdale, 700 N. Broad Street, Lansdale, PA 19446.
