Punzel, 94, New Holstein, formerly of Waterloo and Cambridge, died on Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at Ascension Calumet Hospital in Chilton, WI. She was born on December 18, 1924 in Lake Mills, the daughter of the late Reuben and Gladys (Mason) Pester. Phyllis married Frederic “Fritz” Punzel on February 5, 1944.

He died on May 29, 2008. She was a graduate of the Lake Mills High School, class of 1942. She had been employed at the Lake Mills Shoe Factory.

Phyllis was a member of the Lake Mills Moravian Church and a charter and current member of the Townline Mothers Club. She enjoyed embroidery and doing needlepoint. Survivors include three daughters, Karen Grintjes of Saltillo, MS, Bonnie Fredine of New Holstein, Claudia (Ronald) Schmidt of Lake Mills; grandchildren, James (Thea) Nelson, Michael (Denise) Scheel, Eric (Kathy) Nelson, Dianna Goodrich, Jeffrey (Karen) Scheel, Brian (Shelly) Nelson; great-grandchildren, Kora Nelson, Sophia Nelson, Tony (Angelica) Scheel, Devan Scheel, Alec Nelson, Casey Nelson, Zachary Goodrich, Gretchen (Ben) Juron, Marti Goodrich, Sarah Scheel, Joshua Scheel, Benjamin Nelson, Sam Nelson; two great great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

Also preceded in death by one brother Clyde Pester; two sisters, Lois Andert and Marion Gottschalk; and two sons-in-law, William Grintjes and Daryl Fredine. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 25, 2019 at the Lake Mills Moravian Church. Friends may call after 10 a.m. on Monday at the church until the time of service.

Burial will be in the Rock Lake Cemetery. If desired, memorials would be appreciated to the Lake Mills Moravian Church. www.
