Obituary of Phyllis Willis Phyllis A. Willis, 89, formerly of San Jose, CA passed away Saturday (February 16, 2019) in Heritage Village Rehab and Skilled Nursing. She was born February 11, 1930 in Clear Creek, NY, the daughter of the late Harry and Mildred Taylor Whattler. Phyllis was a 1947 graduate of Falconer High School and was Valedictorian of her class.

In earlier years she was employed by American Manufacturing. Prior to retirement she was employed by Dr. Robert W. Johnson and Dr. Davis Malish in San Jose, CA for 30 years retiring in 1994. Phyllis was a member of the Tonettes and sang in the local area and Buffalo area.

She was a member of the Cambrian Methodist Church in San Jose, CA and Ellington United Methodist Church. Phyllis enjoyed her family and grandchildren, music, singing, gardening and had a passion for reading. Surviving are four children: Susan (Jon) Payne of Kennedy, Douglas (Anita) Willis of Lodi, CA, Michael (Olga-Elena) Willis of Texas, Timothy (Cindy) Willis of Copperopolis, CA; eight grandchildren: Rob Willis, Jennifer Livingston, Matthew Willis, Kimberly Vaughn, Ashley Cozby, Kate Willis, Tyler Willis, Morgan Willis; 14 great grandchildren and her companion of eighteen years Niles Doud.

She was preceded in death by her husband Robert L. Willis whom she married July 3, 1949, who died October 4, 1982; two brothers: Donald and Lyle Whattler and a sister Muriel Rissel. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday, March 1, 2019 in the Falconer Funeral Home. Rev.

Dan Bender chaplain of Heritage Group will officiate. Burial will be in Myrtle Cemetery. Friends will be received by the family from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be donated to Chautauqua Hospice and Palliative Care, 20 W. Fairmount Ave. , Lakewood, NY 14750 or the Kennedy Free Library, 649 Second St., Kennedy, NY 14747.
