Obituary for Priscilla Parks Priscilla Parks, 87, of Muskogee, Oklahoma passed away Saturday, October 20, 2018 with her family at her side. She was born September 1, 1931 in Dora, Missouri to Moss Landon and Thelma (Ousley) Hill. Priscilla was raised in Missouri and attended Odom, a one room school, at the age of 4.
She graduated from Bakersfield High School in Bakersfield, Missouri. Early in her life, she professed her faith being baptized at the First Christian Church in Dewey, OK. Priscilla married the love of her life and best friend, Darrell Parks, on June 14, 1950 in Dewey, Oklahoma.
They shared more than 68 years of life and marriage together. They moved many times over the years and she was active in each community they resided. She was a member of PEO and the Roman Nose Twirlers.
She helped establish the Watonga Art Festival and helped run it for 15 years. She owned Priscilla’s Pantry and The Pink House. She loved to cook and was known for her famous cinnamon rolls and bread.
In 2007, Priscilla moved to Muskogee due to her health. She was a member of Boulevard Christian Church and was active in their backpack program and life group. She was also a member of the Muskogee New Members Club.
She will always be remembered as a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who loved her family very much. Priscilla was preceded in death by her parents, Moss and Thelma; her siblings, Tom Hill, Jackie Collins, and Sonny Hill. She is survived by her husband, Darrell “Cork” Parks, of the home; son, Kenneth Parks and wife, Sammye of Breckenridge, TX; daughter, Cynthia Hensley and husband Chuck of Muskogee; grandchildren, Cole Hensley and wife Samantha of San Antonio, TX, Savannah Hensley of Muskogee, Amanda Goodin and husband Brian, Brian Parks, all of Kilgore, TX, Jennifer Nelson and husband Aaron, Amy Baxley and husband Tim, all of Abilene, TX; great-grandchildren, Selena Goodin, Jeremiah Goodin, Jayton Nelson, Jacob Nelson, Breanna Parks, Grant Baxley, and Natalie Baxley; along with other family members and friends.
The family will greet friends from 5:30-7:30pm, Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at Cornerstone Funeral Home. Funeral services celebrating Priscilla’s life will be 10AM, Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at Boulevard Christian Church with Minister James McCracken and Minister Tony Blumenberg officiating. Interment will follow at Dewey City Cemetery in Dewey, Oklahoma.
