Obituary for Fred Stewart Jr Fred and Alma would have been married 34 years on October 25. He was a member of Southeast Baptist Church. As a young man, Fred would bake delicious pies and sell them to supplement the family income.

He served in the Navy during the Korean War. Fred worked for Otis Elevators and later moved to Muskogee to work at the OG&E power plant where he retired in 1994. Prior to that, he served as the Chief of Police for the City of Morrison and was Captain of the Muskogee Police Reserves for many years.

Fred was an avid fisherman and never met an ice cream he didn’t like. He was a family man and loved to help his kids and grandkids on home projects. He has hung blinds in several of their homes and was always the first one to show up when there was work to be done.

Even when his health wouldn’t allow him to do the actual work, he would sit in a chair and happily supervise. Fred has been on many mission trips, helping to build churches all over the world. He loved cruising with Alma and their best friends: Larry, Kookie, Hutson, Gayle, LuLu, Mike, and Cindy.

He also looked forward to his weekly Wednesday outings to Harbor Freight, Atwoods, and Schlotzsky’s with his best buddies: Larry Isom, Larry Hutson, and Robert Day. He always made sure his kids and grandkids had plenty of flashlights, batteries, scissors, and whatever else he thought they might need that was a good bargain.
