Obituary for Joe Loyd Scivally Joe Loyd Scivally, 76, of Muskogee, Oklahoma entered Heavens Gates on Sunday, November 25, 2018. He was born on August 17, 1942 in Azle, Texas to Eugene Dwight Scivally and Edith Arlie (Brewer) Scivally. Joe attended both Mingo and Owasso elementary schools and graduated from Owasso High School with the class of 1960.
He was a drum major in the Owasso Rams High School Marching Band and received the John Phillip Sousa Award. Joe later attended Grayson County College in Sherman, Texas. He served in the in the United States Air Force during Vietnam and received an honorable discharge in 1966.
Joe married the love his life, Sandra Ann Hunt, on March 3, 1966 in Sherman, Texas. They shared over 52 years of life and marriage together. Joe worked as a Railroad Conductor for Frisco and then BNSF Railroad until his retirement in 2004.
He was a Mason in Madill, Oklahoma and served as DeMolay Leader and Rainbow Dad. He also served as Scout Master in Sherman, Texas. Joe was a volunteer fire fighter in Owasso, Oklahoma and in Pottsboro, Texas where he served as fire chief.
Joe was a member of Warner First Baptist Church. He loved his family and enjoyed spending as much time as possible with them. Joe will be missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Edith Scivally; brother, Jerry Scivally; and niece, Amy Hunt Latham. Joe is survived by his wife, Sandra Scivally of Muskogee, OK; daughter, Kim King and husband Ray King, Jr. of Warner, OK; son, Steven Scivally and wife Carol of Owasso, OK; grandchildren, Tosha King and Fiancé Eric Stout of Warner, OK, Ray King and wife Savannah of OKC, OK, Joe C. Scivally of Owasso, OK currently serving in Kuwait, Kacie Scivally and Zachery Scivally both of Owasso, OK; brother Jim Scivally and wife Frances of Owasso, OK; nieces and nephews, Monica Kendall and husband Chris of Owasso, OK, Brian Scivally and wife Karen of Allen, TX, Susan Scivally, Ron Scivally and wife Shelly all of Skiatook, OK, Dan Hunt and wife Susan of Tulsa, OK, and Doug Hunt and wife Dawn of Sherman, TX; 9 great-nieces and great-nephews; sister-in-law, Carolyn Scivally of Skiatook, OK; brother-in-law, Ronnie Hunt and wife Betty of Sherman TX; and many friends. The family will received friends and family members 5:30 P.M. – 7:30 P.M., Wednesday, November 29, 2018 at Cornerstone Funeral Home.
A celebration of Joe’s life will be 10:00 A.M., Thursday, November 29, 2018 at Cornerstone Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Sam Dunn officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Gibson National Cemetery with Ray King, III, Zachery Scivally, Ron Scivally, Chris Kendall, Eric Stout, Doug Hunt and Dan Hunt serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be PFC Joe C. Scivally, and Brian Scivally.
