Obituary for Jimmy Dale Wells Jimmy Dale Wells was born on November 16, 1956, in Hanford, California, to Glenn Lee and Myrtle Mamie (Frazier) Wells. He was the fifth of six children. As a child one of his favorite memories was climbing in the Chinaberry tree at his Grandma and Grandpa Frazier’s with his siblings and cousins.
After a few years in California the family moved back to their native Oklahoma in 1960. He graduated from Muskogee High School in 1975. He married Brenda Kaye (Keeler) Wells from Muskogee, Oklahoma, on April 3, 1977, in Carlsbad, New Mexico, at the home of a dear friend.
They made their home in Muskogee, Oklahoma. Jim loved being a dad and made every effort to show his children how much he loved them. He could be found appearing at cheerleading events, softball tournaments, and Boy Scout meetings after day long shifts exhausted just to see them enjoying their activities.
He would never let you see his exhaustion because the moment one of his children caught his gaze he put on the biggest smile. Throughout his life he was always involved in some type of hobby such as hang gliding, flying his ultralight airplane (usually over soccer fields to wave at his kids), building as well as flying model airplanes, and attending every nearby car or air show with his family to impart his vast knowledge of each model he approached. It was truly amazing the knowledge he had for old war planes and early model cars.
It showed as his eyes lit up when he spoke of them. As a parent he taught his children many lessons on how to be successful in life. He loved to tell his son Brian when having deep conversations “We may not have a lot of money but we are rich beyond our wildest dreams because we have each other, we love each other, and care for each other”.
He taught work ethic and what it was like to be a great employee- one who takes care of his responsibilities regardless of title. Lastly, he made sure to teach his children how to look at things from the other person’s perspective by taking the time to walk in their shoes. In his later years his passion was in the Lord.
He was active in church, praised the Lord, shared his faith, and attended church as long as he was physically able. It has been mentioned how his devotion to his faith has helped others to lead more faith filled lives. His wife Brenda loved the memories of Jim leading spiritually in praying over family meals.
Listening to his devotion to the Lord is something his family will never forget and they are elated he found his place in Heaven. Jim passed from this life on Wednesday, September 26, 2018, at his home in Muskogee, Oklahoma. He is preceded in death by his son Brian Eric Wells, parents Glenn Lee Wells and Myrtle Mamie (Frazier) Wells, and one brother Rickey Wells.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years of the home Brenda Kaye (Keeler) Wells, his daughter Stefani (Wells) Salmon and her daughters Skyler Bourassa and Lexi Bourassa, daughter Tifani (Wells) Hardaway and husband Ryan Hardaway, their two sons Hunter Rouse and Braylen Hardaway, daughter in law Cassandra Nail-Wells and her daughters Nathalya Smith and Sahara Destiny Wells, sister Linda (Wells) Harris, brother Billy Wells and his wife Debbie, brother Ronnie Wells, and sister Kathy (Wells) Duncan and her husband Mike.
