Homer Evans Meetze, 97, passed away peacefully in his home on Saturday May 19, 2018. Mr. Meetze was born August 12, 1920 in Lexington, SC. He was a son of the late Maggie Kyzer and Baylis Meetze.

Mr. Meetze is survived by his two sons, Russell (Judy) Meetze and Carl (Tammela) Meetze; grandchildren, Kelvin (Katherine) and Kaylon Meetze. He was predeceased by his loving wife Lucille Meetze and sister Mary Anderson. Mr. Meetze retired from Kline Iron and Steel in 1986 after 34 years and returned to a simple life of tinkering in the garden.

Mastering the art of growing collards and pretty much anything else he put his hands on. He was the oldest living member of Providence Lutheran Church, where he remained an active member. Funeral services will be at 3pm, Tuesday May 22, 2018 at Providence Lutheran Church, directed by Barr Price Funeral Home.

Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The church will be open from 2pm to 3pm for viewing. Family will receive friends from 4pm to 5:30pm following the service.
