Anniston – Funeral services for Mr. Ralph Kenneth Jones, Sr., 84, will be held on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Anniston Memorial Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Owens and Rev. Ronny Moore officiating.

Burial will be held in Anniston Memorial Gardens following the service. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Mr. Jones died on Sunday, May 20, 2018, at his residence.

Mr. Jones is survived by his wife of 64 years, Sarah Ann Williams Jones; two sons, Ken (Susan) Jones and Greg (Loy) Jones; two grandchildren, Kelli (Michael) Johnson and Micah Jones; and four great-grandchildren, Anna, Ava and Will Johnson, and Samantha Day-Jones. Pallbearers will be Michael Johnson, Matt Jones, Mark Williams, Antwan Burton, Chad Brown and Phil Mathews. Honorary pallbearers will be the Adult Men #2 Sunday School Class at Leatherwood Baptist Church.

Mr. Jones was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He graduated from Alexandria High School in 1951 and served in the United States Army. He retired from the Monsanto Company in June of 1988.

He was an active deacon at Leatherwood Baptist Church from 1984-1993 and remained an inactive deacon until his death. Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his parents, Walter “Walt” Harris and Pearl Jones; a sister, Pauline Jones O’Dell; and two brothers, William “Bud” Jones and Carl “Pap” Jones. The family would like to express appreciation to Kindred Hospice and a special thanks to Rev.

Winfred Logan, Marlena, Tami, Brandie, Chasity and Cristy.
