Raymond “Charlie” C. Goyette, 95, passed away at his daughter’s home on Monday, June 25, 2018. He was born Oct. 14, 1922 to the late George and Alvina Goyette.

Charlie proudly served in the US Army during WW II and was a Purple Heart recipient. He enjoyed swimming and loved working in his vegetable garden. Charlie also enjoyed building bird houses and was quite the handy man.

He was a member of the V.F.W. Post 3272 in Avon, CT. Charlie was predeceased by his wife Patricia in 2014 and his grandson Charles “CJ” Thomas in 2016. He leaves his loving daughters; Carol A. Thomas (Gary) of Little River, SC.

, and Linda M. Thomas (Scott) of Westfield, his grandson Jonathan H. Thomas (Karen) of Randolph, MA his great grandchildren Jason, Devon and Alexander, his sisters Thelma Troie, Verda Goyette and Dianne Montagna along with several nieces and nephews. Charlie was also predeceased by his brother Roland Goyette and sisters Anita Littlehale and Alvida Paradzick. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held Saturday at 11 AM in St. Thomas Church, 47 Pine St., W. Splfd.

, burial will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery, Kings Hwy. , W. Spfld. A Calling Hour will be held Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at TOOMEY-O’BRIEN FUNERAL HOME, 1043 Westfield St., W. Splfd.

The family would like to thank Baystate Hospice, especially his nurse Sharon and caregivers Josie, Kelly, Kay, Jovanna, Peter, Marie, Rebecca and Bob. Also to Sylvia and Jeanne who pampered and spoiled him and made him laugh. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Baystate Visiting Nurse and Hospice, 50 Maple St., Springfield, MA 01103.
