Obituary of Raymond Zoerb Raymond Harry Zoerb Raymond H. Zoerb, 78, of Corning, NY passed away on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at Steuben Center for Rehabilitation and Healthcare with his family by his side. Born in Corning, New York on August 28, 1940, he was the son of the late Harry C. and the late Marjorie H. (Reed) Zoerb. He was a graduate of Painted Post High School, class of 1960.

He married Charlotte K. Dann in 1962 at the Painted Post Methodist Church. He began employment as a laborer for Corning, Inc., retiring in 1998 after 38 years of service and recently receiving his 50 year pin. Raymond was known for his time serving as an umpire and a coach for little league for many years.

He enjoyed attending the local high school sport events. He also had a passion for hunting, fishing, bowling and square dancing. He and Charlotte spent many winters traveling to Zephyrhills, FL after his retirement.

Raymond’s greatest joy in life was his family. He had an endless love for his children, grandchildren and many neighborhood kids who all knew him as “Zip”. He will be greatly missed.

Raymond is survived by his loving wife, Charlotte Zoerb of Corning, NY; children: Scott (Kim Sutryk) Zoerb of Horseheads, NY and Fred (Bernadette) Zoerb of Big Flats, NY; grandchildren: Megan and Jamie Zoerb and their mother, Martha Zoerb, Samantha (Colton) Herrington, Kara and Sara Zoerb, Kellie Zoerb; great granddaughter, Harper Herrington; sister, Linda (Ed) Baldwin of Florida, Kay (Jim) Crowley of Florida; brother, Gary Zoerb; brothers and sisters-in-law: Joyce Jaynes, Jerry (Sandy) Dann, Evelyn “Daisy” Southwick, Charles (Kathy) Dann, Sharon Dann; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Raymond was predeceased by sisters: Darla Ober and Pamela Zoerb; nephew, Billy Ober; and brothers-in-law, Lester Dann, Clarence Southwick and Robert Jaynes; sister-in-law, Judy Dann; and father and mother-in-law, Fred and Julie Dann. Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at 11:00 am at the United Church of Painted Post, 201 N. Hamilton St., Painted Post, NY.

Carpenter’s Funeral Home, 14 E. Pulteney St., Corning, NY has been entrusted with the arrangements.
