Rebecca J. “Becky”, “Sissy”, Butts, 86 of Staunton, passed away October 30, 2018 at 10:10am at Cloverleaf Healthcare Facility with her family with her. She was born January 16, 1932 in Indianapolis, the daughter of Harry Parrish and Lois Varvel Parrish. Becky was united in marriage to Eugene Earl Butts on June 10, 1950.

They were married for 65 years at the time of his death in 2016. Becky was a member of the Staunton United Methodist Church and was baptized there in 1982. She helped… Read More » to start the food pantry at the church, and was always one to help.

She worked for a time at Miller-Parrot United Baking in Seelyville and later Pillsbury. She worked as a cook and a care-giver at the Clay County Health Center. She also cared for many people over the years in their home and continued to visit those in the nursing home in their final days.

Becky enjoyed her St. Bernard dogs, yellow roses and enjoyed seeing the birds. She was a member of the Brazil Eagles Lodge Auxiliary and in the past, she was a volunteer at the Clay County Hospital gift shop. Survivors include her daughters, Patty Standley and her husband Ron of Brazil, and Karen Dean of Staunton; six grandchildren, John Crafton, Jr, Sandy Crafton-Clark (John), Ronni Borders (Thomas), Phillip Butts (Allison), Chevy Ray Butts (Jennifer), Clyde Dean, Jr. (Nikki); 8 great-grandchildren, Chevy Butts, Jr, Chevelle, Carson, Keaton, Leah, Jazzy and Chloe; two brothers, Bill Parrish (Teresa) and Frank Parrish all of Greencastle; several nieces, nephews and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Lois Parrish; brothers Bobby Boges and Dwayne Parrish; sons, Butch Eugene, Jr, and Mike Butts; great-grandson, Kaleb Borders. Services will be held Saturday at 1:00pm at the Lawson-Miller Chapel with Pastor Jeff Bridgewater officiating. Burial will follow at Rhule Cemetery.
