Our beloved father, grandfather, and father-in-law, Rev. Chalmus Boggs, completed his peaceful journey to Heaven on Tuesday morning of September 25, 2018 at the Greg & Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard. He was 80 years old and a strong man of faith.

He traveled around the world as he served his country in the United States Navy. He was retired from the A & P Company as a meat cutter. He spent his life touching and saving many lives as a Baptist Minister.

He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and a Kentucky Colonel. Chamlus loved the Appalachian Mountains where he spent most of his life. He loved to spend vacations at the beaches in Florida and South Carolina.

He always loved watching his favorite church services, listening to gospel music, and reading the Bible. He never missed watching the Kentucky Wildcats, WWE Wrestling, and bragging on his granddaughter. He is preceded in death by his parents, Elisha David and Sarah Jane Browning Boggs; son, Chalmus Boggs, Jr; his brothers, Rev.

Ernest and Carlos Boggs; his sisters, Bessie and Stella Noe, and his son in law, Danny Weaver. He is survived by his daughters, Alma Weaver and Deborah Cornett; son-in- law, Adam Cornett; granddaughter, Allie Cornett; mother of his children, Opal Boggs; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. A Celebration of his life will be held at 7:00 pm on Friday (September 28) in the chapel of the Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home with Rev.

Sean Daniels officiating. Burial will be 11:00 am Saturday (September 29) at the Green Hills Memorial Cemetery in Middlesboro, KY. Military Rites will be observed by the Harlan Honor Guard.

Visitation will be after 5:00 Friday (September 28) until the funeral hour at the Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home. Flowers are welcomed but memorials are suggested to the Greg & Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center, 101 Dennis Sandlin MD Cove, Hazard, KY 41701.
