Obituary for Richard Allen “Dick” Ripka Richard Allen “Dick” Ripka, 66, of Mill Hall passed away Thursday, March 1, 2018 at his home. Born on March 13, 1951 in Bellefonte, he was the son of the late Clyde W. Ripka, Jr. and Ilene Ruth Halderman Ripka. On March 31, 1973, Dick married the love of his life, the former Sharon M. Mitchell.

Dick was a dedicated employee at Bestway Truck Stop in Milesburg for over 40 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards, and attending the drag races at Beaver Springs Dragway. Dick was an avid NASCAR fan, cheering on Dale Earnhardt and later Dale Earnhardt, Jr. Dick even made his way to the Poconos for the race each June.

Along with his wife, Sharon M. Ripka of Mill Hall, he is survived by his son, Richard (Angel) Ripka, Jr. of Mill Hall; two daughters, Lisa Ripka (Tom Houser, Jr.) of Mill Hall and Christina (Larry) Porter of Beech Creek; four brothers: William (Darlene) Ripka, John (Pat) Ripka, Donald (Teresa) Ripka and Jeffrey (Sandy) Ripka, Sr.; a sister, Patty (Sam) Connor; and eight grandchildren: Scott Ripka, Cody Ripka, Andrew Ripka, Madison Ripka, McKenzie Ripka, Colton Ripka, Michael Houser, and Wyatt Ripka. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Clarence Ripka and a sister, Martha Lucas. A memorial service for Dick will be held at a later date.
