MATTHEWS, RICHARD “RICK” age 66, of Coventry, passed away Friday, January 25, 2019. Born in Cranston, he was the son of the late Wilfred E. and Irene F. (Young) Matthews. Rick was the owner/operator of Rick and Dee’s restaurant for the last 15 years.

He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He especially loved vacationing with his family and the playful banter between he and his loyal customers at Rick and Dee’s. He was the beloved husband of Denise (Duquette) Matthews for 46 years.

Loving father of Tina Yurovchak and her husband Richard and Richard Matthews, Jr. and his wife Danielle. Dear brother to Patricia Schooling, Beverly Stankevich, Diane Leddy and the late Sandra Cullen. Cherished grandfather of Christina and her husband Mario, Nicholas, Michaela, Ricky and Julian.

He had a special place in his heart for his great-grandchild M.J. He will be missed. His services are private, under the direction of IANNOTTI Funeral Home, 415 Washington St., (Rte.

117), Coventry. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the RI Veterans home would be appreciated.
