Obituary Service Details Richard Leone Jr. Former Waterbury Police Officer Richard Leone, Jr., 40, of Waterbury, entered the Gates of Heaven, surrounded by his loving family, on Thursday, September 6, 2018. He was born in Waterbury, on December 9, 1977, the son of Cynthia (Fiore) (Leone) Szczepanski and the late Richard Leone Sr. Rich was a former Waterbury Police Officer, “The Warrior,” and a business owner of the “Lounge,” in Watertown. He loved the New York Yankees; he had a heart of gold, he helped many people, and was simply amazing.

He will be sadly missed. He is survived by his close brother, Christopher Leone, and his former wife and best friend, Sherri Leone, and also the love of his life, his beautiful daughter, Grace Leone. He also leaves behind several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent in Memory of Richard Leone, to his daughter, Grace, C/O Colasanto Funeral Home, 932 Bank St., Waterbury, CT, 06708. Please make checks payable to Cynthia Szczepanski. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am, on Monday, September 10, 2018, at St. Leo the Great Church, 14 Bentwood Drive, Wtby.

Friends are asked to meet directly at the church. Burial to follow at New Pine Grove Cemetery. Calling Hours will be held at Colasanto Funeral Home, 932 Bank St., Waterbury, on Sunday, September 9, 2018, from 5:00 pm, to 7:00 pm.
