Obituary for Richard Simpson Richard H. Simpson, age 77 passed away June 12, 2018, at Webb City Health and Rehabilitation. He was born February 12, 1941 in Aurora, Mo. , to the late Henry and Jewel (Young) Simpson.
Richard worked at W.R. Grace and then at Senior Engineering in their Electrical Maintenance departments. He attended Forest Park Baptist church. Richard married LaHoma (Bowman) Cossey, June 15, 1973.
She proceeded him in death on July 2, 2010. Survivors include: Two sons; Richard Lee Simpson and his wife Alison of Joplin, Jeff Simpson and wife Jennifer of Carthage. Three daughters Cheryl Barchak and husband John, Joplin, Cindy Parker and husband Don of Joplin and Rene Johnson and husband Keith of Duenweg, Mo.
Fourteen grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Three brothers; Floyd Simpson, Beuford, S.C., Charles Simpson and his wife Donna of Lloydminister, AB. , Canada, Johnny Simpson, Joplin, Mo.
, three sisters; Lorene Powers, Joplin, Mo. , Linda Hernandez, Joplin, Mo. , and Dixie Turley and her husband Tom, Tulsa, Ok.
He was proceeded in death by one son, Wayne Cossey in 2009. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday June 18, 2018 at Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Chapel. Randy Wilson minister will officiate.
The family will receive friends Monday, 1 to 2 p.m. at the mortuary. Burial will be at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery, Joplin. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given to Hospice Compassus in care of the mortuary.
Arrangements are under the direction of Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Chapel. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Webb City Health & Rehab for the excellent care given to Richard.
