Robert “Bob” Lee Zachek, Appleton, passed away unexpectedly from a heart attack on Friday, January 25, 2019, at St. Elizabeth Hospital. Bob was born on September 6, 1963, in Appleton to Lois (Utschig) and the late Howard Zachek. Bob graduated from East High School and went on to pursue a career as an electrician at Sonoco and Crane Engineering.

He found his true passion in teaching electrical engineering at Lakeshore Technical College. Teaching allowed him to share his wealth of knowledge, and have more time to enjoy the things he loved including biking, fishing, grilling, gardening, and most of all, spending time with his family and friends. He will be remembered for his humorous and very generous personality.

Bob is survived by his wife Jennifer Zachek (Jones), Appleton. He is further survived by his children Nicole (Justin) Granato, Kristin (Michael) Thyrion, and Brittany (Stuart) Mohoney and his grandchildren, Peyton, Sydney, and Cooper. He is also survived by his mother Lois Zachek, his sister Lynn (Todd) Krueger, sister-in-law Theresa Zachek (Bilyeau) and nephews Chad and Eric.

He was preceded in death by his father and his brothers: Donald and John Zachek. Family and friends are welcome as we come together to support each other during this difficult time. Visitation will be held for Bob at Brettschneider-Trettin-Nickel Funeral Chapel on Saturday, February 2, 2019, from 12:30 – 3 PM; followed by a service at 3 PM.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Robert Zachek`s name. Donations will be given to causes Bob was passionate about such as the Hearthstone Historic House Museum and the Parkinson’s Foundation.
