Delton D. Christensen, DDS. , age 86, of Appleton, passed away on Wednesday, January 16, 2019. He was born on December 22, 1932 to the late Joseph and Ethel (Downs) Christensen.

Del was married to Marilyn Long on December 20, 1958 by Fr. O’Brien in the Catholic Chapel at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany, where Del was stationed during his time in the United States Army. He graduated from Idaho State University with his degree in Pharmacy.

After being a pharmacist, Del then pursued a career in Dentistry where earned his DDS in 1965 from Marquette University. Del was a well known and very talented dentist. He lived with his wife in Naples, Florida for 15 years before settling down in Appleton.

Del was a member of the KIWANIS club and numerous bridge clubs. Del was an avid outdoorsman enjoying all things from trap and skeet shooting to hunting and fishing. He found respite at his lake house in Lakewood on Maiden Lake.

Del was very social and had a quick, dry sense of humor that would make anyone laugh. He also enjoyed golfing, snowmobiling, playing bridge, and going every year with his dental affiliates to Wyoming to partake in outdoor activities. Del was adept at many things and a great fabricator.

He was a true family man, always putting his wife and children first. Del is survived by his wife of 60 years, Marilyn; his children Tracey Christensen and Sara (Peter) Gull; his sister Mary Medler of Plains, Montana; brothers-in-law Keith Long and Robin Long; sisters-in law: Joan Kolosso, June Long, and Gladys Long; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother Cleon Christensen and sister Dorothy McFrederick.

A Funeral Mass for Delton will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at SAINT MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 312 S. State Street, Appleton with Fr. Bill Swichtenberg officiating. Friends may visit from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to SAINT MARY CATHOLIC CURHCH, 312 S. State Street, Appleton, WI 54911 in honor of Del.
