OBITUARY Robert C. Schwindel October 29, 1923 – July 25, 2018 Robert C. Schwindel, 94, of Evansville, IN passed away Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at Heritage Center. He was born in Mt. Vernon, IN on October 29, 1923.

He was a charter member of Nativity Catholic Church and received the Bruti Award in 1993. He served in the U.S. Navy for 6 years and was a member of the V.F.W. Post 2953. After his service in the Navy, he went to work at Faultless Caster and retired in 1988 after 38 years.

He enjoyed working in his yard and garden. Robert was preceded in death by his father and mother, Joseph and Frances Schwindel; sisters, Rose Wainman, Ann Baldwin, Lucille Stewart; and brothers, John, Walter and Richard. He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Genevieve (File) Schwindel; daughters, Mary Miller (Dan) of Sudbury, MA, Donna Jones (Charlie Mattingly) of Evansville, IN, Linda Mattingly (Bill) of Evansville, IN, Diane Merritt (Bruce) of Evansville, IN; 8 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 AM Monday, July 30, 2018, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church officiated by Rev. Bernie Etienne with burial in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Friends may visit 9:00 AM until service time on Monday at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Rosary Catholic Church. FAMILY Genevieve (File) Schwindel, Wife Mary Miller (Dan), Daughter Donna Jones (Charlie Mattingly), Daughter Linda Mattingly (Bill), Daughter Diane Merritt (Bruce), Daughter Robert is also survived by 8 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
