Obituary for Robert E. Gaudet Print Robert E. Gaudet, 90, loving husband of Ann (Nancy) Gaudet, passed away on Sunday, January 27, 2019 with his wife by his side. Born in Meriden on July 28, 1928, he was the son of the late Albert and Irene Gaudet. He was a lifelong resident of Meriden.

Robert worked for New Departure and he was the owner of Pickett’s Package Store. In his retirement, he was a starter at Hunters Golf Club. He was a veteran of World War II having served with the U.S. Navy.

He was a parishioner of St. Laurent Church. Bob was an avid golfer, enjoyed gardening and working in his yard. He was a member of the Elks and enjoyed his time with the YMCA Cardiac Rehab Group.

Besides his wife of sixty-six years, he is survived by two daughters, Sharon Kapitulik (David) and Robin Carretta; three grandchildren, Shelley Kapitulik, Emily Wing (Adam) and Austin Carretta; one brother, Peter Gaudet; several nieces and nephews and two grand dogs. He was predeceased by his sister, Shirley Carroll and three brothers, Charles Gaudet, William Gaudet and Arthur Gaudet. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be held on Wednesday, January 30 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady Queen of Angels Church, Our Lady of Mt.

Carmel Campus, 109 Goodwill Avenue, Meriden. Everyone is asked to meet directly at the church. Burial with military honors will be in St. Laurent Cemetery.

Family and friends may call at the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 East Main Street, Meriden on Tuesday, January 29th from 4 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers. contributions in his memory may be made to the Meriden Elks, Lodge # 35, House Committee, 120 East Main Street, Meriden, CT 06450 or to the Antique Veterans of Meriden C/O Meriden Senior Center, 22 West Main Street, Meriden, CT 06451 .
