Robert E. Kerger, 91, passed to his eternal reward on October 6, 2018 at Holy Cross Village in Notre Dame, IN. Born in Gary, IN to Ray and Helena (Peschke), Robert was preceded in death by all of his siblings who included Ray, Jr., Gloria, Julia, Lucille, John, Rita, and Marguerite. He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Gertrude (Kazmierzak) and four children, Sheila (Mike) Truesdell, Loretta (David) Cox, Bob (Joellen) Kerger, and Mary Beth (Edward) Shew.

Robert and Gertrude’s infant son, Gregory, preceded him in death. His ten grandchildren and three great-children also mourn Robert’s passing. Robert received his B.S. in Electrical Engineering in 1948 from the University of Notre Dame and spent his career with Commonwealth Edison Company in the Chicago area.

Robert enjoyed computers, camping, ham radio, Notre Dame Football, and tinkering in his garage. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held in Our Lady of Holy Cross Chapel – Dujarie House at Holy Cross Village at 10:00am on Thursday, October 11, 2018. Visitation will be at 9:30 that same morning.
