Obituary for Robert “Gip” Cook Robert “Gip” Cook, 82, of Bristol, VA passed away Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at his home. He was born in Russell County, VA on January 30, 1936, a son of the late Lonnie and Hattie Kegley Cook. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Ellawayne Cook; two daughters, Connie McMurray and Debbie Waddell; and four sisters, Mable Gammon, Ruby Richardson, Neva Wallace, and Gladys Cook.

He was a native of Russell County, VA and had lived in Bristol, VA most of his life. He attended Temple Baptist Church in Bristol, TN and had retired from Paty Lumber Co. Among his hobbies and interests, he loved to hunt and fish. Gip is survived by his two sons, Robert Cook and Richard Cook and wife Stephanie; six sisters, Agnes Scruggs, Maxie King and husband Wayne, Geneva Cross, Rita Balthis and husband Don, Elaine Trivett, and Judi Leiter and husband Keith; nine grandsons; several great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; and one special niece and caregiver, Katie Worley.

A Graveside Service and Interment will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 13, 2018 at Mountain View Cemetery Mausoleum, Bristol, VA with Pastor Leroy Fleenor officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be sent to Temple Baptist Church, 1768 Muddy Creek Rd. , Blountville, TN 37617.
