Monday, March 11, 2019 in the Becker-Rabon Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Sam Rodriguez, First Reformed Presbyterian Church, Minco, OK officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery. Robert Ray (Bob) Nauman,88, born November 24, 1930 in Craig, MO to John Paul and Dorothy Marie Nauman, passed away peacefully at the Lawton Fort Sill Veterans Center on Tuesday, March 5, 2019, surrounded by family.

The Nauman family moved from Missouri to Oklahoma during the Dust Bowl era. Bob attended schools in Lawton and graduated in 1950. He married his one and only love, Edna Roberta Allison, on March 8, 1951 at Beal Heights Presbyterian Church.

Drafted into the military in 1952, Bob served two years with the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He returned to serve in the 45th Division of the Oklahoma National Guard while beginning a career in civil service at Ft. Sill.

During this time, he also joined the 95th Division U.S. Army Reserves and retired in 1990 with the rank of Lt. Colonel. A faithful member of Beal Heights Presbyterian Church from a young child until his death, he served as both deacon and elder and sang for many years in the church choir.

Bob was an accomplished woodworker and master repairman of all things, including broken hearts. He was a valiant protector of his 75 year-old pecan tree, which he guarded from squirrels with his trusty Red Rider. He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Dorothy Nauman; sister Lois Werner, brother John P. Nauman, Jr. and nephew Greg M. Evans.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Edna R. Nauman; one son Bernard Ray Nauman; three daughters Cheryl A. Stone and husband, Roy; JoAnna Hulett and husband Hal; and Jayne Foreman and husband SFC (Retired) Steve. Cherished grandchildren include Sabra Hall, Ben Hulett, Candace Van Sickle and Andrea Nauman. Beloved great-grandchildren are Delaney and Jace Hall, Owen Hulett and Douglas Sincic.

Treasured nieces and nephews are Lynne Werner and Lynda Schafer, J.P. Naumann III and Russell Nauman. A very special thank you from the family to the staff at Lawton Fort Sill Veterans Center. We are eternally grateful to the nursing staff on the “Blue” Wing, including Santana Perez and Eric Pierce who cared for Bob with such compassion and patience.
