Obituary for Roger D. Owsley Roger D. Owsley, 71, of Rittman, died Tuesday, June 12, 2018 surrounded by his loving family at Medina General Hospital. He was born September, 15, 1946 in Slagle, West Virginia to the late Taulby and Madeline (Griffith) Owsley and lived most of his life in Rittman. Roger proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.

Following his discharge from the military, he married the love of his life, Matilda “Mousie” Tooley on November, 30, 1968 in Logan, West Virginia. They have been happily married for 50 years; she survives. He was employed by the former Packaging Corporation of America for 46 years as a Technical Advisor.

He loved watching his grandsons play sports and spending time with his family. He enjoyed hunting, traveling to his cabin in Woodsfield and watching Western movies. Surviving is his wife; Mousie; daughter, Robin Evans of Rittman; grandchildren, Josh and Matt Evans both of Rittman; son-in-law, Randy Evans of Rittman; sisters, Verdie Napier of Wooster and Ruth Leake of West Virginia; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Arnold, Charles and James Owsley; and sister, Lillian Chambers. Services will be held Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. at Auble-Gillman Funeral Home, 360 W. Sunset Dr., Rittman with Rev. John Castle officiating.

Burial will follow at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. The family wishes to thank extended family members for assisting with the care of Roger. Memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, 4899 Belfort Rd.
