Obituary for Roger Louis Marchal Roger L. Marchal, 66, of Cridersville, OH, died 6:15 a.m., Wed. April 11, 2018, at the Mercy Health- St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima. He was born March 22, 1952, in Piqua, OH, the son of Louis Raymond & Anna Mae (Spornhauer) Marchal, who preceded him in death.

Survivors include, 2 sisters, Patricia A. Marchal, Linda K. (Michael) Krall, both of Troy, OH, a nephew, Timothy C. (Alexa) Magoto, Centerville, OH, a niece, Jennifer A. (Kevin) Subler, Versailles, OH, 8 great nieces & great nephews, Kate, James, Ali, & Charlie Magoto, Matthew, Jack, Henry, & Grace Subler, dear friends, David & Danyse Christiansen. Roger retired as a claims representative from the Social Security Administration, Lima office. A 1970 graduate of Russia High School, Roger received a Bachelors Degree in Psychology from Wright State University.

He later received Masters degrees in English & Theology from University of Dayton. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Wapakoneta, where he served as a church organist and pianist. He also served as organist at several area churches, and had a passion for playing pipe organs.

Roger enjoyed fine wines, fine dining, and traveling. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Monday, April 16th, 2018, at the St. Joseph Catholic Church, Wapakoneta, Fr. Patrick Sloneker officiating.

Burial will follow in the Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Newport, OH. The family will receive friends from 2-8 p.m., Sun.

& 9-10 a.m., Mon. at the Eley Funeral Home & Crematory, 1102 Lincoln (St. Rt. 501), Wapakoneta.
