Ronald B. Forward April 03, 1918 – February 22, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Col. Ronald B. Forward, (USAF Ret. ) of Windham, NH, died peacefully at home on February 22, 2019 at the age of 100.

Ron was born in Melrose, MA on April 3, 1918, the son of the late Ronald and Hattie (Bradley) Forward. He grew up and was educated in Framingham, MA. Ron served his country as a Unites States Air Force pilot (command pilot wings) for over 28 years.

He flew 50 combat missions during World War II and also served as a pilot for General Toomey Spatz. He met and was photographed with English Prime Minister Winston Churchhill during a pilot briefing prior to a mission. Ron met and married his wife Sheila in England 76 years ago.

They resided in Windham since 1968. An avid outdoorsman, Ron enjoyed hunting and fishing near his camp on Moosehead Lake, near Greenville, ME. Ronald is survived by his beloved wife Sheila (Dean) Forward of Windham, NH.
