Rhinebeck – Ronald J. Hansen 72, passed away Tuesday, July 24, 2018, at his home in Clermont, NY. Ron graduated from Rhinebeck High School in 1964, enlisted in the US Army and served during the Vietnam War. Following his service he began working for IBM as a computer programmer in Poughkeepsie and Kingston.

He worked for Time Warner Cable, Cablevision and FedEx after his retirement from IBM. He was a member of Montgomery Post #429, Rhinebeck. Born April 7, 1946 in Elizabeth, NJ, he was the son of Edward Hansen, Sr. and Clementine (Guski) Hansen.

Ron is survived by his wife Joyce (Gustin) Hansen of Elizaville; his son Sean Hansen and his wife Karen of Rhinebeck; three grandchildren Matthew Hansen, Ryan Howard and Sean Howard; five step-children Timothy Niekrewicz, Amy Sibulich, Daniel Niekrewicz, Susan Niekrewicz, and Jody Parsons; 12 step grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother Edward Hansen, Jr.; and a sister Eileen Hansen. Calling hours are Sunday, July 29th, 5 to 7 PM, at the Dapson-Chestney Funeral Home, 51 W. Market ST.

, Rhinebeck. Members of American Legion Montgomery Post #429 will conduct services at 7 PM. Private interment will be at Rhinebeck Cemetery.
