Ronald was born on March 8, 1942, in Joliet, IL to Lewis and Beulah (nee Herring) Jenkins. He passed away suddenly on June 23, 2018. Ron was a lifelong resident of the Joliet/Elwood area.

He attended Joliet Schools and was a Retiree of Caterpillar Tractor Company in Joliet. Ron was also an avid Bowler in, and around, the Will County area for many years. Ron was preceded in death by both parents, and both parent-in-laws, Henry Sr. and Estella (nee Bumpers) Thornton; three sisters, Betty (Robert) Crawford, Flora M. Jones, and Guyzelle (Edward) Jones; one brother-in-law, William Thornton.

Ron is survived by his devoted wife, Delois; two daughters, Yolanda Jenkins-McCullum of Joliet, IL; and Jennifer (Norman) Tatum of Shorewood, IL; one son: ToManuel (Pamela) Loggins of Plainfield, IL; six grandchildren, Jason White-Jenkins, Morgan McCullum, Maitlin McCullum, DeAndre Loggins, Tijera Loggins, and Lauren Tatum; sister-in-law, Ollie (Hugh-deceased) Ferrell of Fort Worth; TX; two brothers-in-law, Henry Thornton, Jr. of Coffeeville, AL and Darryl (Patricia) Thornton of Memphis, TN. A host of Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins also survive. The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Ramesh N. Patel, Ron’s physician and friend.
