Floyd V. Gordon, Jr., age 74, went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, June 13, 2018, at Joliet Area Community Hospice Home. Survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Twylla Gordon; daughter Kimberly (Craig) Stephens and granddaughters Mariah Stephens and Katelyn Stephens of Royal Palm Beach, FL; daughter Tracy (Bill) Petersen of Scottsdale, AZ; brother Ken (Edith) Gordon of Puyallup, WA; and sister Jacqueline (Ralph) Fairbairn of Joliet, IL. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Preceded in death by his father Floyd V. Gordon, Sr.; mother Joanne Gordon; stepmother Elda Gordon and one brother Norman (Lee) Gordon. Born in Joliet, a lifelong Joliet/Shorewood area resident. Retired from the City of Joliet Fire Department after 30 years of service.

Floyd was the owner and operator of Gordon’s Appliance Service since 1977. Member of Judson Memorial Church where he served faithfully in many capacities. Active with the Christian Youth Center for many years.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, June 16, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. at Judson Memorial Church, 2800 Black RD, Joliet. Private interment Woodlawn Memorial Park. Memorial donations in memory of Floyd can be made to Judson Memorial Church Youth Ministries or Joliet Area Community Hospice.

Floyd was a faithful prayer warrior. He texted and prayed for many, many friends around the world. He loved his adopted-by-heart family.

He loved us well.
