James W. Seeley, age 85, of Morris, passed away unexpectedly early Monday, June 11, 2018. He was born in Joliet, the son of the late James J. Seeley; mother Mary (Rittof) Seeley Derlinga; step-father, Walter Derlinga. He attended Joliet Catholic High School.

James served proudly in the Korean War in the U.S. Navy. Shortly after returning home from the service he was employed by and retired from the Joliet Steel Mill. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Doris C. (Thayer) Seeley; beloved children Jim Jr. (Tammy) Seeley, Carolyn (Bill Jr) Russell, Susan (Bill) Gregurich, John Seeley; sisters Sr. Mary Francis Seeley O.S.F. and Geraldine (Donald-deceased) Thayer and brother Gerald (Flo) Seeley; numerous beloved grandchildren and one great grandson.

He was preceded in death by his son Dennis W. Seeley; sister Patricia (Joseph “Bucky”) Bakos and brother George (MaryAnn) Seeley. Funeral from the Blackburn-Giegerich-Sonntag Funeral Home, Saturday June 16, 2018 at 9:30 a.m. to St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church for Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Interment Resurrection Cemetery.
