Rosemarie Heizmann Atwell , January 11, 1945 — October 17, 2018

Rosemarie Heizmann-Atwell, age 73, of Round Lake Park, Illinois, passed away Wednesday, October 17, 2018, at Advocate Condell Hospital, with her beloved husband of 19 years, James L. Atwell, and daughters Audrey and Lindsey by her side. She was born in Tamaulipas, Mexico on January 11, 1945 to Luis and Celia (Mena) Iñiguez. She was a caring and supportive partner to her husband; a mother who would take on the joys and pains… Read More » of her daughters by encouraging them to keep their chins up and to see the joys of life; a grandmother who liked to spoil her grandchildren and give them all her love. One of her gifts was she listened intently and with understanding to family and friends’ life stories, without criticism or judgment. Rosemarie was creative and a free spirit.

She found joy in dance and music; she enjoyed photography, knitting, cooking and painting. She loved the Holiday seasons, especially Christmas, and in spring she welcomed her birds back to her yard. She took pride in her appearance and work ethic, working long hours as a translator for a government agency in Chicago.

She was a woman of the twenty-first century before being so was fashionable. With her passing, Rosemarie became a donor to the Gift of Hope Organ and Donor Network Organization. Left to cherish Rosemarie’s memory is her husband, James Atwell; three daughters, Audrey Heizmann, Lindsey (Eduardo Valdes) Heizmann, Pamela (Tom) Griffith; five grandchildren, Abigail and Kyle Krepp, Camden, Cullen, and Taylor Griffith; nieces and extended family in Mexico.

In addition to her parents, Rosemarie was preceded in death by her beloved sister, Chela. Family and friends are invited to a celebration of life memorial service being held at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 1145 N. 5th Ave. , St. Charles, IL 60174 on Friday, November 9th, 2018 at 10:30 am, followed by a luncheon at La ZaZa Trattoria, 5 S. 1st St., St. Charles, IL 60174 from 12:00 to 2:30 pm.
