Rosemary Beck , April 15, 1930 — March 19, 2019

Rosemary Beck, age 88, of Macomb, passed away at 12:58 p.m. Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at the Elms Nursing Home in Macomb. Rosemary was born on April 15, 1930 in Ipava, Ill. the daughter of Frank and Pearl Babcock.

She received her elementary education at Ipava Grade School and V.I.T. in Table Grove, Ill. graduating in May of 1948. Rosemary is survived by her husband Eldon, one sister Genevieve France of Macomb, two nephews Lindell (Joy) Beck and Kent (Sandra) Beck, four nieces Delores Beck, Donna Mann, Darlene (Bert) Whalon and Susan (Dale) Ertzinger, many great nieces and nephews, many great -great nieces and nephews, and one great- great- great- niece.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two nephews Rod Beck and Frankie France, and one great-niece Summer Whalon. After high school she went to work as an office clerk for the Illinois National Guard at Camp Ellis, Illinois. Camp Ellis closed in 1949 and moved to Springfield, Illinois, Rosemary then moved to Springfield and went to work for the National Guard there.

At a Christmas party at that facility through a mutual friend she met her future husband Eldon Beck. They started dating and were married on October 2, 1955 at the Macomb Assembly of God Church. They were married by Eldon’s cousin Rev.

Danny Jensen formerly from Longmont, Colorado. They both worked for the National Guard until November 1965 when they moved back to Macomb to make their home. They also made Macomb Assembly of God Church home, and Rosemary was very active in the work of the church.

She also loved to sew her own clothes, cook, and do housework. She liked to travel, spending a lot of time in Colorado and many other states. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2019 at 10:30 A.M. at the Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Macomb.

Pastor Carl Redding will officiate. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 22, 2019 from 6:00 P.M. until 7:30 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to MDH Hospice or the Macomb Assembly of God Church.
