Margie Lee Stephenson, age 97, a resident LaHarpe -Davier Health Care in LaHarpe, Illinois and formerly of Blandinsville, passed away at 4:20 PM on Thursday, March 7, 2019 at the healthcare center . She was born on October 17, 1921 in Floyd,Virginia the daughter of James Edward and Naomi Hopkins Spradlin. She married Kenneth Stephenson on October 18, 1942 in Galesburg Illinois, he preceded her in death on September 27,2000.

She is survived by one daughter Jane (Rex) Cordill of Granger, Indiana , one son Robert Stephenson of LaHarpe, Ill. , one grandson Carl (Rebecca) Knaack Jr. of Galesburg, two great-grandchildren Alyssa Knaack of Port St. Lucie, Florida and Steven Knaack of Galesburg . She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 sisters Maudie Cross and Virginia Stephenson.

Margie was a graduate of Avon High School. In 1950 she and Kenneth moved to Colchester, Illinois and to Blandinsville, Illinois in 1961 where she lived for 52 years. Margie had worked for McDonough District Hospital in Macomb, Illinois as a nurses aide for 13 years.

She was a member of the Friendship United Methodist Church. Graveside funeral services will be held on Monday, March 11, 2019 at 11 AM at the Bushnell Cemetery. Rev.

Lee Unger will officiate. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
