Roy G. Lewis Sr., 89, of Williamsport, passed away surrounded by family on Wednesday, April 18, 2018, at his home. He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Deloris M. Lewis on Dec. 2, 2017.

Born August 10, 1928, in Plunketts Creek, he was a son of the late David G. and Edith Maley Lewis. Roy was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He retired as a heavy equipment operator for George E. Logue.

Surviving are five children, Roy G. Lewis, Jr. (Gail), Mary Lewis-Hamman (Sam), all of Williamsport, Connie Lewis-Schell (Robert), of Jersey Shore, Dorothy Lewis-Mayer (Michael), and Keith Lewis (Bobbi), all of Williamsport; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Mildred Leonard, of New York; and a brother, Jim Lewis of Proctor. Roy was preceded in death by a son, Dennis R. Lewis; a grandson, Brendon M. Nelson; and siblings, Betty Thomas, Martha Frey and Pearl Thomas. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers please send memorial contributions in Roy’s name to Hope Enterprises, 2401 Reach Road, Williamsport, PA 17701. The family would like to thank the entire team from Susquehanna Home Care and Hospice for the kind and compassionate care given to Roy. Arrangements are entrusted to Sanders Mortuary.
