Roanoke, VA- Ruby Mallie Church, 94, of Roanoke, VA and formerly of War, WV, died Saturday January 26, 2019 in Roanoke. Born September 18, 1924 in Welch, WV, she was a daughter of the late William Owens and Lottie Harris Owens. Mrs. Church was a member of Yukon #2 Community Church.

She was very family oriented and was dedicated to her children and grandchildren. She was always involved in their education and activities. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Church; one son, Curtis three sisters, Date Owens, Cora Warren, Rosa Collis one brother, Curtis Owens; daughter-in-law, Helen Goodman Church; two grandsons, Barry Wayne Church and Robert Marshall Church; and two great-grandsons, David Hicks and Devon Stepan.

Survivors include daughter, Jennifer Smith and husband Buck; two sons, Ernest Church and wife Mildred and Denny Church and wife Leanna; daughter-in-law, Loretta Lee Owens; sisters; Virginia Hurd and Phyllis Baker, 17 grandchildren, Curtis Owens, Danny, Kennith, Sunset, Teresa, Dovena, Data, Robert, Beth, Missy, Sonya, Heather, Kevin, Travis, Regina, Michelle, and Steve; 34 great-grandchildren, Misty Dawn, Nick, Brionna, Kensleigh, Fletcher, Macy, April, Jessica, Mike, Jordan, Johnathan, Branden, Pebbles, Tiffany Beavers, Ethan, Ryan, Sydney, London, Katerina, Mark, James, Tiffany Shelby, Samantha, Robert, Kayla, Isabella, Dylin, J.P., Trae, Joshua, Taylor, Jacob, and Kacie and Lucy; 9 great-great grandchildren, Owen, Aiden, Hope, Cayden, Callianne, Payton, Caraline, and Zaiden and in March his baby brother. The family wish to thank, Good Samaritan Hospice, for all the care and love that have given “especially” Lynn. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday January 30, 2019 from the Mercer Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 p.m. with Rev.

Charles Rose officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 12:00 p.m. until the service hour. Burial will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield, VA where grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
