Mr. Rufus Lee Norris, a resident of South Bend, IN, departed this life on the morning of Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at Cardinal Nursing Home. Rufus was born on February 26, 1951 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas to George and Lillie (Benson) Norris. After moving to South Bend in the 1970’s, Rufus was employed as a general laborer, working mainly in the lumber industry.

He was a beloved father, brother, uncle and friend. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Family members who survive to cherish Rufus’s memory include his children: Katrina Graham of South Bend, Jason Graham of South Bend and Corey Graham of South Bend; sister Mattie Fets; brother Robert (Gloria) Norris of South Bend; niece Tina Norris; nephews Anthony Norris and Robert Norris, Jr.; great-niece Natasha Norris; as well as a host of extended family members and friends.

Rufus was preceded in death by his parents, George and Lillie Norris; sisters Shirley B. Smith and Liz Mumpheys; and brothers William Norris and George Norris, Jr. Services for Rufus Norris will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Palmer Funeral Home – West Chapel, 2702 Lincolnway West, South Bend, IN 46628. Friends may call on the family for visitation from 2:00-4:00 p.m. on Friday, February 1, 2019 at the funeral home. Online expressions of sympathy may be left at www.
