Obituary for Ruthella Wagner Ruthella Wagner, 90, died Friday, April 20, 2018 at her home in Garden City. She was born January 10, 1928 in Scott City, Kansas the daughter of William & Kathryn (Neuenschwander) Streeter. Ruthella grew up as a child in Scott City where she attended schools.

In 1940, she moved with her family to Garden City where she also attended school. She graduated from Garden City High School in 1945. On June 16, 1946, she married Louis R. Wagner in Garden City.

Ruthella and Louis took over the family business, “Streeter Cleaners” from her parents. They successfully owned and operated the business for an additional 30 plus years. She has been a member of the First Christian Church in Garden City since 1940.

Ruthella loved serving her church in many ways. She sang in the church choir for many years and served as Diaconate Emeritus. She also loved to spend time with her Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren.

Survivors include a son Roger Wagner of Muskogee, Oklahoma; a daughter Lana & husband Steve Christensen of Garden City, Kansas; two daughters-in-law Janice Wagner of Lawrence, Kansas and Sherry Tyree of Ft. Gibson, Oklahoma; two sisters Joann Glasse of Garden City, Kansas and Marlene Richmeier of Toledo, Ohio; a sister-in-law Mickey Streeter of Garden City, Kansas; six Grandchildren; and 20 Great-Grandchildren. Ruthella is preceded in death by her husband Louis who died on December 8, 2005.

She is also preceded in death by her parents; two sons Louis R. Wagner III and Douglas B. Wagner; a Grandson Peter Wagner; two brothers W.H. “Bill” Streeter and Albert Streeter; and a sister Twila McKinnley. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at the First Christian Church in Garden City with Rev. Scott Schurle officiating.

Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery in Garden City. Friends may call from Noon to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday and from 9:00 a.m. to Noon on Friday at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City. The family suggests memorials given to the First Christian Church in care of the funeral home.
