Obituary for Ted McMillan Garden City- Ted McMillan, 94, died on Friday, June 15, 2018 at St Catherine Hospital in Garden City. He was born on June 18, 1923 at Hutchinson the son of Jesse & Verna (Coleman) McMillan. He married Freda Mai on August 31, 1949 at Raton, New Mexico.

Ted moved to Finney County when he was seven years old. He graduated from Garden City High School in 1941 and attended Garden City Community College. While in school he delivered the Garden City Telegram and sacked groceries at Safeway.

He was a life long farmer-stockman in Southern Finney County and worked on the side for 43 years as the measuring supervisor for ASCS. He was a charter member of the Plymell Union Church and held various leadership roles in the church and also was a member of the Plymell school board. He enjoyed collecting and hunting arrowheads, his pocket knife collection, playing pool at the Senior Center, watching western movies and KU Basketball.

He was preceded in death by his Parents and 2 Brothers- Keith McMillan and Don McMillan. He is survived by his Wife- Freda McMillan of the home, Daughter- Kathy & Dan Kraus of Garden City, 3 Sons- Danny & Nancy McMillan, Rod & Sharen McMillan and Randy & Shelle McMillan all of Garden City, Brother- Jim McMillan of Wichita, 17 Grandchildren and 23 Great-Grandchildren. Funeral service will be at 10:30 AM Tuesday at Plymell Union Church with Rev Ron Niday officiating.

Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery in Garden City. Friends may call from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM Monday at Garnand Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to Plymell Union Church or Leave A Legacy Foundation in care of Garnand Funeral Home.
