Edna “Ruth” Morris went home to be with her Savior on April 13, 2018, in Frankfort, IN. Ruth, 89, was born on January 24, 1929, in Dawson Springs, Kentucky. Her family later moved to Princeton, Kentucky where she spent her childhood.

Ruth later married James W Morris and they moved to Owensboro, Kentucky where she resided until a serious illness in 2009 prompted a move to Frankfort, Indiana. Ruth was a homemaker that loved the Lord and her family. She set an example of Christianity for her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren to know and understand the love of God.

She loved reading, listening to classical music, and family get-togethers. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey Fox, Edna & Clarence Parrott, and siblings Mary Carnahan, Opal Wright, James Parrott, Pearl Keelin, and Buddy Fox. In addition to her parents and siblings, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon Alvey in 2003; her husband, James Morris, in 2005; and a grandson, John Morris, in 2015.

Ruth is survived by one sister, Frances Morris of Owensboro, KY; two daughters, Sandra Dragoo (Kenny) of Frankfort, IN, and Denise Lowe (Tim) of Owensboro, KY; and one son, Stephen Morris of Owensboro, KY. Ruth has seven surviving grandchildren, Darrel Walker (Brenda) of Calhoun, KY, Lisa Scheckel (Matt) Arizona, Jamie Sowders (Christa) Owensboro, KY, Stephen Best, Jr. (Kim) of Owensboro, KY, Eric Best (Selena) of Frankfort, IN, Kelsey Woodard and Sierra Adams, of Owensboro, KY. Also surviving Ruth are eight great-grandchildren, Montana Best, Autumn Best, Cheyenne Best, Catherine Sowders, Jordan Towery, Sharon Moseley, Jesse Walker, Ashley Bell, Oakland Adams; and seven great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 10:00am on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory. Burial will be at 1:00pm at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Princeton, KY. Visitation is from 2:00pm until 8:00pm on Monday and from 9:00am until 10:00am on Tuesday at the funeral home.
