Obituary for Mrs Patricia Marie Grant Hartz Patricia Marie Grant Hartz, 72, passed away Tuesday, April 10, 2018, at her home under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky. She was born on September 2, 1945 in Daviess County to the late James Robert Grant and Alberta Gaw Grant. She retired from the Kentucky Department of Employment Services where she was a case manager.

Patsy was a member of St. Mary Magdalene Church where she was a lector, a eucharistic minister, and a member of the Catholic Women’s Prison Ministry. John and Patsy were awarded the Sophia Award in 2016 for Distinguished Service from the Diocese of Owensboro. Patsy enjoyed Bible Study classes, playing cards, and Book Club.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings Sara Thomas, Jody Grant, Stephen Grant, John Grant, and her brother-in-law Jim Roth. She is survived by her husband of 52-1/2 years, John Hartz, Jr., her children John, III (Nancy) Hartz, and their children Evan, Aaron, Alex and Audrey of Suwanee, GA, Joelle (Joe) Dill and their children Katelyn McGaha (Mike), and their child Bailey, Joseph, Michael, Luke, Lyla of Indianapolis, IN, and Jim (Amy) Hartz and their children Houston, Hayden and Drew of Owensboro, KY. She is also survived by her siblings Margaret Frey, Rachel Roth and Jimmy Grant.

Services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 13, 2018 at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church, with Father ShaijuThomas and Father Pat Reynolds officiating. Burial to follow at St. Mary Magdalene Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, April 12, 2018 at Haley McGinnis Funeral Home & Crematory, and from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 13, 2018 at St Mary Magdalene Catholic Church.

Prayers will be said at 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to St. Joseph’s Peace Mission; 1328 W 3rd; Owensboro, KY 42301, or Passionist Monastery; 8564 Crisp Road, Whitesville, KY 42378.
