Obituary for Frances Faye Best Riney Frances “Faye” Best Riney, 73, passed away Monday, May 28, 2018, at The Carmel Home with her loving family by her side. She was born on February 9, 1945, in Daviess County to the late Amos and Helen Osborne Best. Along with her parents, Faye was preceded in death by her husband of fifty years, Mike Riney, who passed away on July 1, 2015.
Faye is survived by her children: Michael (Trina) Riney II; Dr. Jeffrey (Tracy) Riney; Phil Riney; and Jennifer Riney Butler. Faye is also survived by her twelve grandchildren: Martina, Laura, and Mikala Riney; Hannah, Nathaniel, Madeline, Elliott, and Fletcher Riney; Christopher and Matthew Riney; Lucas and Brayden Butler; and great-grandchild, Michael Moore. Faye was a devoted member of the parishes of Immaculate and St. Alphsonsus, where she volunteered with bereavement dinners, worked picnics and cleaned the church.
She was a dedicated, talented beautician for forty-nine years working at LaPetite Salon, independently, and Debbie’s Hair Salon. Faye was a beloved mother, wife, friend, cousin, aunt, grandmother, and great-grandmother who radiated joy, humility and dignity throughout her life. She blessed her family with unconditional love and delicious cooking.
Specifically, her incomparable homemade fried chicken and donuts were treasured at family gatherings, especially birthday celebrations and holidays. Faye was extraordinarily passionate about her interests, like shopping, reading romance novels or watching her favorite channels, Hallmark and TV Land, and her favorite show, Wheel of Fortune. She deeply cherished all the time she spent with her ever-growing family.
Faye was always strong in difficult times, especially as she endured the tragic loss of her husband while facing a cruel, unkind disease, Progressive Supranuclear Palsy that caused unimaginable suffering. Nevertheless, Faye showed courage, strength and grace, and remained an inspirational matriarch to her beautiful family.
