Bennie Robinson Boone, 84, of Owensboro died Saturday, May 12, 2018 at his home. He was born in Daviess County on May 8, 1934 to the late Bennie R. Boone and Emma Earl Boone. Bennie was a retired truck driver with Hickory Springs and an avid 1/64 scale car collector.

He was also a Kentucky colonel. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Baird Boone; sisters, Jonnie Turner, Teresa Hoagland and Patty Henderson; brothers, Jody Lanham and Fred Lanham; and an adopted son, Dick Darrough. Survivors include his sons, Gary Robinson Boone (Kellie) , J. B. Boone (Barbara); four daughters, Vickie Ward, Susan King (Alan), Carla Collins (Scott) and Shannon Schueler (John); several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Catherine Hall; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Pastor & Elder Felix and Pastor Dewayne Swanagan.

Services will be at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory. Burial will follow in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
