Sammye Carolyn (Goggans) Traylor, age 81, of Evansville, IN, passed away at 6:32 p.m. on Wednesday, November 14, 2018, at St. Vincent Hospital Evansville. Sammye was born November 17, 1936, in Haleyville, AL, to John and Lottie (Barnwell) Goggans. She was a member of Washington Avenue Church of Christ.

Sammye loved her grandbabies, church, volleyball, vacations at Daytona Beach. She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Wayne Traylor; sons, Kyle Traylor (Tracy) of Gurley, AL and Kirk Traylor (Lorie) of Huntsville, AL; grandchildren, Cameron Traylor (Ashtyne), Logan Traylor (Camden), Chelsea Traylor, Casey Traylor, and Olivia Traylor; sister, Waulene Simons of Henderson, KY; and nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Frances Faver and Azalee Whitworth.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, November 17, 2018 at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue with Minister Stephen Rogers officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Family and friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until service time, Saturday, November 17, 2018 at BOONE FUNERAL HOME EAST CHAPEL.
